Freixenet

PATRONAGE

Our commitment

The Ferrer Sala family was the driving force for this activity through Freixenet, making it a solid part of its corporate culture, not just as a specific qualitative element, but rather also as a commitment to society. We are aware at all levels and we understand that our help has made it possible to implement initiatives of many different types in different places.

Our patronage has evolved in parallel to the development of the company itself. We began with small local sponsorships in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia that were initially started by the founders as a way to help education and culture through the Col·legi Sant Josep school (the board of trustees of which is presided over by Mr. José Ferrer Sala) and the town's cultural institutions. Also worthy of note is the support for the par excellence local sport, hockey, enabling it to develop to its maximum potential and reach the 18 teams sponsored by the CE Noia Freixenet from beginner to professional, which plays in the highest division.

Just as we have grown through the years, so has our patronage, to such point that we have come to collaborate with institutions that are for a Spanish company, such as the MOMA in San Francisco and the MET in New York (corresponding to the introduction of our cavas in the United States in the 1970s). As might be expected, we have made Catalonia and Spain the main focal points of our patronage and sponsorships. For the past several years, we have been involved in cultural projects with the MACBA, the Fundación Albéniz and its Orquesta Sinfónica Freixenet at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía, the Fundación Princesa de Asturias, the Assiciació Museu de la Ciència i de la Tècnica de Catalunya, the Associació Concurs Maria Canals and the Asociación Cultural Plaza Fortificada. In the field of education, Freixenet also makes contributions to ESADE and to the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC); and in the area of charity, the company contributes to the Fundación Esclerosis Múltiple and the Fundació Raval Solidari.

In the past, at Freixenet we have cooperated in the same way with MNAC, the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Palau de la Música Catalana, the Premi Sent Soví and the Premi “Llavor de Lletres”, not to mention the sponsorship of historical events, including the company's support for the Olympic Candidacy of Barcelona and the 1992 Olympic Games of Barcelona.
